In the green room before our concert in Albany, NY, on April 13, 2008, I had a chance to sit down and talk shop with renowned luthier and overall good guy Michael Tobias.
In this video blog, we discussed the MTD J5 prototype that is my primary bass for my work with Lincoln Brewster.
Look for an upcoming vid blog featuring my MTD 535, as well another where Michael gives us a guided tour around the MTD shop!
Enjoy...

Hey leta louise! Not sure what's up...just went and checked, and it is definitely working on my laptop (I'm sitting at the Denver airport, so can't go check out any other computers at the moment).
Can you try once more on a different computer?
Sorry for the hassle!
Blessings- Norm
Hey Wes! Sorry for the lag; your comment came in under the radar!
Huge gratitude for your service...hit me back when you're back in the US. I'm usually out that way at least several times a year.
Be safe & God bless....Norm
Norm,
I'm planning on purchasing one of the new MTD Saratoga series (which is based on your J-series :). I'm also planning on upgrading the pick up into something else. My question is: what pickups / preamps do you have on yours (or is it a confidential question to ask ;)? It would be helpful to compare the sound of your pickup to the stock-passive version :)
Thank you & God bless!!
